The SoR has been asked to identify advanced and consultant practice radiographers that are making significant contributions to the patient care pathway.
The evidence will be used to inform an AHP project, commissioned by Karen Middleton, chief health professions officer (England).
Audrey Paterson, director of professional policy at the SoR, said: “We are looking for examples of radiographic practice that improves the patient’s overall journey and experience.
"Improvement can be in terms of smoothing or speeding up the pathway, or in terms of outcomes. We know there is excellent work going on in a number of care pathways, with radiographers working with a range of other healthcare professionals to improve the quality of care experienced by patients, but it’s not always easy to identify the individual radiographers concerned and the specific nature of the contribution they make.”
So, if you know that your work is making a real difference to patients, please email brief details to the project lead Anthony Croft or to Audrey Paterson, setting out the particular care pathway, the other professions that you are working with to deliver the pathway, your specific interventions/role in the care pathway and the difference(s) your intervention/role is making in terms of the quality and outcomes of care.
