On expenses

Following the winding up of the Society's breast focus special interest group, a one-off award will be made to members with accepted proffered papers and posters for this year’s Symposium Mammographicum.

The Society intends to divide the money as follows:

• For up to five radiographers/members who have had an abstract accepted for a proffered paper, the Society will provide a contribution towards their travel and accommodation costs to a maximum value of £250 each. To be considered, they need to submit copies of their accepted abstracts and, if they are one of the chosen five, receipts for their accommodation and travel against which the Society can pay the award.

• For up to five radiographers/members who have posters accepted and are not attending the symposium, the Society will give an award of £50 – again they will need a copy of the accepted abstract for the poster but nothing else.

To apply, radiographers/members must let the Society have the abstract before the end of May 2010. Successful candidates will be informed by the end of June and £50 of the overall award will be paid to them at that time.

The remainder will be paid on receipt of a completed expense form with travel and accommodation costs and receipts itemised – these may be claimed in advance of the symposium if advance payments have been made.

Awardees must be members of the SoR, and winners will be announced and featured in Synergy News and on the SoR website.

The closing date for submission of abstracts to Symposium Mammographicum is 5 March 2010.
