SoR president, Zena Mitton vowed to empower members.
SoR members at the Annual Delegates’ Conference got down to business debating 42 motions to advise Council on the future policy of the organisation.
In her opening address the Society’s president, Zena Mitton,
reminded delegates from throughout the UK that the decisions they were about to take would have a “significant impact on the organisation".
"This conference is crucial to our survival. It is here that you guide Council on the policies the Society should pursue in future years."
She stressed that the SoR is always concerned to encourage active engagement with Council and to empower members at grass roots level.
“This conference and the Society needs to challenge for change, for improvement and for advancement. Most of all we need to stand-up on behalf of our patients.
"Let’s challenge for excellent imaging and radiotherapy.
"Let’s challenge for radiography.”
Representing leaders
Managers and leaders from the profession were represented amongst the delegations from the SoR regional committees and devolved national councils.
