The SoR’s new professional officer for Scotland has spoken of her delight at her appointment.
Evelyn Neilson, a specialist radiographer at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, will be replacing Maria Murray during her two year secondment with NHS Education Scotland (NES).
Evelyn started as an IR rep in the early 1990s and has a long background with the SoR’s Scottish Council, serving most recently as treasurer, before which she was chair for three years.
“Maria will be a hard act to follow but I think the seven years I have done on Scottish Council will stand me in good stead for the challenges ahead,” she said. "I am really looking forward to getting started!"
Evelyn takes up her three day post at the end of this month and will be responsible for representing the SoR with the Scottish government, sharing intelligence with other AHPs, as well as supporting the work of the therapy managers’ group, diagnostic managers’ forum and Scottish Council.
She will also contribute to SoR strategy documents and comment on Scottish government policy that affects the SoR membership.
