Society members can now debate news and air their opinions through an online feature launched by the SoR.
The new member benefit means radiographers logged into the Society's website can add their own thoughts on the week's events.
The ‘comments’ section of the website allows for those signed in to read and then respond to news articles.
The new feature replaces the ‘forums’ section of the website which has fallen into disuse. According to the Society’s web developers, Deeson eMedia, less than 10 postings on the forums have been made so far this year.
“The ‘comment on this article’ feature is a great way to stimulate debate amongst radiographers and gives members the opportunity to share their insight on matters affecting the profession," explained Audrey Paterson, SoR’s director of professional policy.
“Importantly, too, it gives the SoR immediate feedback from members on the issues that will affect them and so will help ensure that the spectrum of members’ views are heard.
“The new function is another example of how the Society can bring together the membership and further the interests of radiographers. We hope members will use and enjoy it.”
Email addresses and member log-in details are not revealed when posting a comment. Members are advised, however, that their names will be displayed alongside their comment. So the advice is: think before you post!
