Applications are being sought for a scholarship scheme aimed at helping nurses, midwives and, for the first time, allied health professionals develop their leadership skills.
The Florence Nightingale Foundation has recently formed a partnership with the Burdett Trust to award scholarships to endow potential future leaders with the skills and self-confidence to contribute forcefully to the rapidly changing world of healthcare.
Recipients will undertake a bespoke programme geared to his/her individual needs. The programme may involve travelling abroad, attending relevant courses, visiting healthcare facilities, shadowing senior leaders, learning about the political process.
The scholarships are intended to be ambitious; to make a significant difference to the careers of high quality individuals who have considerable leadership potential. As such the amount awarded to scholars will be significant, flexible, and depend on the amount requested in the programme submitted.
Applications and supporting statements should be submitted by email. The closing date for applications is Friday 16 October 2009.
