UKRC 2009 looms large

The largest multidisciplinary congress covering all aspects of diagnostic imaging and oncology, as well as radiology informatics and service delivery, is just a month away.

This year's UKRC promises something for everyone, with sessions on chest radiology, MSK radiology and stroke imaging. By popular demand, there will be an update on urologic imaging which will be a fully interactive session. The satellite lectures delivered by the exhibitors in the custom-built lecture area in the exhibition hall will run through most of the congress. There are exciting topics including cardiac imaging, innovations in PACS, fluoroscopy and CT.

The 'Education on the Stand' exhibition is back and bigger than ever with even more interactive educational sessions. Companies including Siemens, Toshiba, GE, and Philips will branch out from their usual equipment displays, to run a series of educational workshops, lectures and hands-on demonstrations. Delegates who attend will gain a CoR accredited CPD certificate for their portfolio.

As ever, two lectures will be presented by the Society and College of Radiographers. The first is the Stanley Melville Memorial Lecture on 9 June on 'Patient Safety, Risks in Healthcare and promoting a safe culture' by Dr Jason Leitch. The second is the William Stripp Memorial Lecture on 'Osteogenesis Imperfecta – Past, Present and Future' by Donna Dimond of Bristol Royal Hospital for Children on 10 June.

The event will be held between Monday 8 June and Wednesday 10 June at Manchester Central, Manchester.
