News Issue No.51

Expand your horizons

I&O is celebrating edition five this year and, having held the reins as managing editor for the past five years, Professor Audrey Paterson is stepping down.

She says, "It’s been immensely rewarding and I’m very grateful indeed to all those who have contributed over the past five years but it’s time for some fresh ideas and thinking to take it forward."

The fifth edition of the title has just been published.

Imaging & Oncology authors are encouraged to 'think the unthinkable' and predict how the worlds of imaging and cancer care will look in five to 10 years' time.

Articles in this issue include:
• Demystifying the role of the consultant therapy radiographer - Natalie Howes

• A risky business: implementing emerging technologies into radiotherapy - Donna Routsis

• Implementation of an immersive virtual reality training system for
SPECT-CT and its role in imaging and oncology - Marc Griffiths, Peter Hogg, and others

• Sharing data across healthcare organisations - Stephen Gatley

If you would relish the challenge of producing at least the next two volumes of Imaging & Oncology (2010 and 2011), contact Audrey (020 7740 7208 or audreyp@sor.org).

The appointment is an honorary one and informal expressions of interest are being sought from imaging and oncology professionals.
