The empowerment of managers as leaders of the profession will be at the heart of an ambitious three-year strategy unveiled this week by the Society and College of Radiographers.
Central to the strategy is the Society's pledge to support managers as they lead change in the health service and promote the further development of advanced and consultant practice.
Richard Evans, chief executive of the SoR, commented: “This three-year strategy has been developed through consultation with managers, educators and members. It lays out a clear path for the organisation to follow by detailing the Society’s main objectives for the next three years and reinforces the central role managers, educators and leaders will take in shaping the profession and health service.”
Evans said leaders could look to the Society's strategy for support in achieving the development of resources to support practice such as the online CPD Now and E-learning tools.
Audrey Paterson, director of professional policy for the Society, echoed this pledge, adding: “This plan comes at an exciting time in the Society’s and profession’s history. We have seen an unprecedented level of development in the profession over the last 20 years and the Society has been at the forefront of this. As a strong and forward-thinking organisation we will continue to support members and managers, ensuring that the therapy and imaging workforce in the UK remains in the vanguard of advanced practice.”
