The World Health Organisation (WHO) has published a report entitled 'Radiotherapy Risk Profile' for radiotherapy communities across the world.
Over the last year, the Society of Radiographers has contributed to the development of the profile, together with the Royal College of Radiographers.
With a foreword by Sir Liam Donaldson, chief medical officer for England, the UK’s chief medical adviser, and chair of the World Alliance for Patient Safety, the publication is divided into two parts.
The first part is an international review of patient safety measures in radiotherapy practice.
The second sets out WHO's Radiotherapy Risk Profile and analyses the radiotherapy process, from patient assessment to treatment verification and monitoring.
