Advanced practice in radiography has been established for over two decades in the UK, with almost forty consultant posts now filled.
The latest special edition of Radiography journal focuses on issues that are of 'fundamental importance' to advanced and consultant radiography practitioners in the UK including:
- The role of a consultant breast radiographer
- Legal issues of extended practice
- Consultant radiographer leadership
With papers included from several countries world-wide, the journal also hopes to provide inspiration internationally. It explores how some countries are intending to adopt advanced radiographic practice into their clinical routine, and demonstrates the value that will result for patients and radiographers alike.
Radiography is a peer-reviewed journal of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy and the official professional journal of the College of Radiographers.
