Scottish Health Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP has offered her support to the SoR as it pushes for radiography career progression.
Maria Murray, SoR professional officer for Scotland, met the Minister at the Scottish National Party Conference (SNP) in Perth.
Said Maria: "The conference was a success as it promoted the AHPs as a unified group highlighting the contributions made from each of the professions to ongoing effective healthcare in Scotland."
"It was important for SCoR to be present as we are part of the AHP family in Scotland but in particular, with the SNP being in government in Scotland for the foreseeable future and the possibility of a Referendum in 2010 on Scottish independence."
Maria spoke with Nicola Sturgeon MSP at some length regarding Scottish radiography issues, including the radiography career progressions framework. "The Minister was extremely receptive and offered to help if required. I am going to try to set up a meeting with her in the future," she added.
