NAI child skeletal surveys

Radiographer researchers are asking colleagues across the UK to share
information on the control and restraint they use for Non Accidental
Injury skeletal surveys (NAI SSs) in children.

Senior radiographers Jenny Grehan, Great Ormond Street Hospital and
Lindsay Batty-Smith, King's College Hospital, London are gathering information about current practice in departments for anti-mortem and post-mortem studies.

Lindsay
Batty-Smith explains: “NAI protocol needs to be standardised
across the UK in order to ensure robust radiographic practice that can
be scrutinised in a court of law.

"We are gathering information on protocol, immobilisation and restraint, alternatives to immobilisation and restraint, and legal directives. We hope managers can work with staff to answer our short questionnaire.”
