Issue 7

NHS staff earnings figures released

The results of the NHS staff earning’s survey, August 2004 are now available online. The survey revealed that the average earnings for professions allied to medicine was £25,200.

The average earnings for different grades were:

  • Senior I, £29,600;

  • Senior II, £25,900;

  • Basic grades, £22,000.

The highest earners in the NHS were consultants, attracting earnings of £94,700. Ancilliary workers had an average basic salary of £10,900.
