The impact of AfC on radiographers
The SoR recently issued a survey to assess the impact of AfC on its members. It was mailed with the September issue of Synergy News and is also available on the SoR website.
A high response rate is vital and the SoR is urging all members to complete and return the form. “As well as establishing how members have fared under AfC in comparison to Whitley, the information will help us to determine whether or not members are being disadvantaged in comparison to other AHP groups and NHS employees in general,” said Susan Henry, information officer at the SoR. “We are encouraging members to use the online survey because it reduces costs and means that we can swiftly access the data.”
If you work in the NHS and have been matched and/or assimilated onto AfC pay, terms and conditions but have not yet completed the survey, please do so. If you have already completed the form but did not have full details to hand when you did so (particularly AfC pay point or JE Score) please submit another form. If you included your membership number on your original form the SoR will be able to match up your sets of answers, so you need only submit the missing details. If in doubt, please complete the entire form.
“We would like to hear good news (high band matching) as well as the not so good news (low band matching). We want to know how everyone is doing,” adds Susan.
Members who have not yet been matched and/or assimilated are asked to retain the form and complete and return it upon being matched. The survey will remain on the SoR website until all members are assimilated.
A copy of the AfC pay scales for 2005 are available here. Please refer to these when completing question 16.
