Radiographer amongst dead at Russell Square

Malaben Trivedi, a radiographer from Wembley, has been identified as one of the people killed in the Russell Square tube bombing on 7 July. She is one of the final victims to be identified. Ms Trivedi was PACS manager in the x-ray department at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children. She was caught in the blast on her way to work.

Dr Cathy Owens, on behalf of the department of radiology, paid tribute to Ms Trivedi: "Mala had a particular combination of skills as an IT expert and a radiographer which enabled her to set up and run the imaging IT system at Great Ormond Street. Her dedication to her job and her cheery polite nature made her a very popular member of the close knit team which she helped lead."

She continued: "Mala was kind and empathic, and for her work was a vocation. We will greatly miss her tireless dedication, her cheery disposition and our hearts and prayers go out to her family in whose sadness we share, and who have shown such dignity and courage at this very sad and difficult time."

The department is planning to hold an event in memory of Ms Trivedi.
