Identifying skills gaps
Skills for Health are undertaking a formal assessment of employer needs in relation to skills development of staff in the healthcare sector. This aims to assist health sector employers in the UK to identify their skills needs and gaps and to define and prioritise their training requirements, now and in the future.
The work is part of a larger programme which is looking to match demand (employer needs) and supply (further and higher education provision).
The consultation includes a range of methods – formal meetings, a series of workshops and an employer skill needs survey – to capture an accurate picture of skills needs for the next 10 years.
