‘Pump priming’ awards for small scale projects
 The Royal College of Radiologists and the SCoR have joined forces to encourage applications for the annual research ‘pump priming’ scheme. This is designed to enable the collection of preliminary data and is intended specifically to support the development of larger scale, preferably externally funded, research projects. Preference will be given to projects which show clear plans to use the priming funds for such developments.
The area of research is not restricted although it is expected that it will have direct relevance to the development or practice of radiology, oncology or associated specialties. Deadline for applications is 3pm on Friday, 2 September 2005. Guidance and advice concerning the suitability of individual projects and the completion of the necessary forms can be obtained by e-mail or by telephone from Gill Smith at the Society.
