Where do you advertise for staff?

Staff talking at workThere are more radiographers working in the UK than ever before but the job market is still tight with some areas reporting continuing difficulties recruiting experienced practitioners. The way that most departments advertise for staff is in the pages of SYNERGY NEWS and Society members can view the openings at sor.org.

However, some trusts believe that local media is the way to go. Another alternative in recent months has been the Department of Health’s NHS Recruitment website but few people have faith that it provides the targeted approach needed because it lists every type of job to be found in the Service.

Where do you get the best response when you advertise? How much control do you have over where an ad appears for a vacancy in your department? How can the recruitment process be improved?

Responses, comments, grumbles, gripes and ideas to publisher@synergymagazine.co.uk by 15 July. They will be published in the next edition of TOPTALK and £50 will be given to the best one.
