Lord Warner has taken over from John Hutton as Minister of State for NHS delivery. He will be responsible for clinical governance and national standards, the Commission for Healthcare Audit and Inspection (the Healthcare Commission), the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), pharmaceutical and medical devices industry issues, genetics and biotechnology, departmental management, bureaucracy (huge task in itself), and research and development.
His areas of personal interest are children's rights, Europe and social services.
