Get active on pay

Pound coinsDo you want to send a clear message to government about what it's like to work in the NHS and how you feel about pay?

The SoR has joined forces with other health unions to commission an independent members' survey to provide evidence to the Pay Review Body for the 2008/2009 pay round. This is your chance to influence their recommendations to the government on the level of pay and pay related terms and conditions for NHS staff.

Independent research organisation, Incomes Data Services (IDS), will carry out the online survey, which takes just 10 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous.

Director of industrial relations for SoR, Warren Town, is encouraging members to get active. He said: “The PRB has asked for more evidence from health unions to feed into the next review. An independent research project of this kind is likely to carry a lot of weight, but only if we get a good response. This is your chance to send a strong message to government that they should value NHS staff.”

The survey will be posted on the Incomes Data website on 4 June.
