£41m proposal for UK radiotherapy research platform
Research network, ACORRN, has announced a £41m proposal to establish a research platform to support excellence in clinical radiotherapy and translational radiobiology research in the UK.
ACORRN was established by the National Cancer Research Institute to revitalise radiotherapy and radiobiology research in the UK by supporting individuals and groups, developing infrastructure and an integrated strategy.
SoR professional officer Charlotte Beardmore welcomed the proposal, saying: “Research in the UK has been hampered because of a lack of funding. This proposal offers an excellent opportunity to progress more effective research and refocus the development of services.”
