NICE consults on updated head injury guidelines
 The SoR is collating members' views to respond to a NICE consultation on new clinical practice guidelines on head injury.
Imaging strategy is covered in the guidelines, which were first published in 2003 and are now up for review. Kate Garas, SoR professional officer, is especially keen to hear from managers on the how the guidelines have affected their work.
She said: "The original NICE document had a tremendous impact on the CT scanning department. The Society is keen to hear your views on managing the current guidelines, especially in view of other government targets such as cancer and the 18 week wait. We also want to know if the proposed revisions will affect your department's existing practice."
Members' feedback will be included in a formal SoR response to the consultation. The deadline for submissions is 10 April 2007.
