New steering group on diagnostic imaging technologies

Arrow pointing upThe Scottish Executive is inviting radiographers to join a new steering group to scope and implement diagnostic imaging technology for NHS Scotland.

It is anticipated the group will:

  • Use processes of technology road-mapping to review the usefulness of existing, new and
    emergent technologies in the fields of diagnostic imaging, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy and invasive imaging procedures;

  • Identify the links and interactions between these technologies;

  • Advise the national clinical advisors on radiology on priorities for national programmes;

  • Advise the National Procurement diagnostics commodities team on priorities for national procurement work programmes in these areas and on the constitution and composition of specific commodity advisory panels.

The group would not be expected to concern itself with the detail of specific procurements but would remain high-level and strategic and advisory on the way forward.

For further information or to express your interest contact Andrew Marsden, medical advisor, National Procurement.
