Radiographers ask industry to join partnership

Richards Evans and Alan Budge of AgfaA new initiative has been launched by the SoR to provide support for radiographers' research and professional development.

The aim of the College of Radiographers' Industry Partnership Scheme is to encourage funding from industry for radiography research projects, delivering benefits to both the profession and to business.

“The scheme provides business with a unique opportunity to influence and develop opportunities with practitioners at all levels working across the complete scope of imaging and oncology modalities,” said Richard Evans, the College's chief executive officer.

“In return, the profession is looking for financial support for research and professional development projects.”

Partners subscribe annually at one of three subscription categories. There is a minimum donation to the scheme for each level. Partners pay £1000 a year, Premier Partners £3000 per annum, and Diamond Partners, £5000.

The College itself is committed to an annual donation at least at the level of a Diamond Partner.

Agfa, Phillips and Siemens are working with the College to set-up the scheme and Arthur Kay, a trustee of the College and formerly of Varian, is also providing advice and support.
