Attention all radiography educators!
There is still time to put yourself forward for the three-day leadership conference, hosted by the American Society of Radiological Technologists (ASRT).
The Leadership Academy for Educators (LAE) comprises a three day residential programme, held in Albuquerque, for approximately 20 selected educators who are at or near the beginning of their career in radiography education. It provides significant development and mentorship for those selected to participate.
Once again, the ASRT has reserved one place for a UK candidate, including accommodation and all LAE materials. The SoR will fund the awardee’s travel costs to a maximum of £500.
Lesley Forsyth, radiography course leader at the Robert Gordon University, was the 2006 recipient of the award. "The course is great for radiographers near the beginning of their career who want to develop their leadership skills," she said. "The sessions posed a series of complex educational and leadership challenges and really changed my approach to radiography education."

Applicants must submit a written 1000 word statement (mindful of the criteria given in Appendix 1) explaining why they feel they would benefit from the award, how they would disseminate their experiences and learning locally and nationally, and what they might hope to do as a result of the experience. You will also be prepared to write a report for consideration by the SCoR Research Group and a news item for Synergy News.
To register your interest for this programme please submit your written statement to Yvonne Reihill, Deputy Executive Secretary, Society of Radiographers, 207 Providence Square, London SE1 2EW. Telephone: 020 7740 7236.
