Awards for AHP innovation

Woman sitting at a computerAllied health professionals are invited to enter their work in the second annual awards programme designed to champion innovation in the health service.

The UK Awards for Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists, supported by the Department of Health and the Allied Health Professionals Federation, offer up to £15,000 in prize money.

The awards are designed to raise the profile of AHPs’ contribution to patient care, highlight new ways of working, and encourage team and partnership working. This year’s categories include:

  • Innovation in patient care or clinical services;
  • Excellence in learning, teaching, development and mentorship;
  • New ways of working and extending the boundaries;
  • Excellence in management and leadership;
  • Putting research into practice;
  • Promoting health and well-being in hard-to-reach communities;
  • Working across boundaries;
  • Improved patient care through the innovative use of IT.

Individuals, small groups, a department, a hospital or a trust should make entries on-line. Applicants are asked to describe their project in no more than 500 words. The closing date is 28 July and shortlisted applicants will be asked to present to a judging panel in September.
