Diversity is the one true thing we all have in common

Silhouette of a group of peopleThe Yorkshire & North Trent  and the Northern regions are inviting managers to take part in reps’ diversity training sessions.

Due to take place on 15 May at South Tyneside DGH and on 24 May in Wakefield, the seminars have been specifically designed for the SoR and will be led by a professional training company which uses interactive drama techniques.

“The focus will be on how employees’ treatment of each other can lead to claims of discrimination and bullying. The training will attempt to highlight why and how these difficult situations arise and how they can be avoided,” said Helen Wickham, regional officer.

“We hope that local employers will consider using this type of training within diagnostic and therapy departments alongside the employer’s own diversity training.”

The session forms part of the SoR’s ongoing training programme for local accredited IR/H&S reps and there is no charge to managers who attend. A buffet lunch will be provided at the Wakefield session.
