Everyone who wants role development move north of border

Scottish FlagScottish Executive Health Minister Andy Kerr has announced that the 4-tier structure will be implemented throughout Scotland.

Following the publication of NHS Education Scotland’s long-awaited report PDF, which evaluates the implementation sites and the need for developing radiographer roles as a key component of the Scottish Health Department drive for waiting time reductions, the Executive decided to move forward.

However, the minister did caution that unlimited funding is not available but the report does say that service improvements involving radiographer professional development, advanced and consultant practice supported by assistant practitioners and the educational requirements to delver these, will be supported.

The role development programme is part of a package of measures by the Scottish Executive Health Department Centre for Change and Innovation.
