Society suggests ‘standards of proficiency’ changes
 The SoR has made a number of recommendations to the HPC in response to the consultation on whether the standards of proficiency need updating.
Fitness to practice, CPD, national clinical guidelines, child/elder abuse and other issues specific to the profession have been covered in the SoR's response.
Based on the evidence received from the SoR and others, the Professional Liaison Group will make a recommendation to the HPC, which is due to then put the standards out for wider consultation. Finally, a decision will be made as to whether revised versions of the standards are required.
