HPC Standards of Proficiency Review

Standards of Proficiency bookletThe Health Professions Council is currently reviewing the Standards of Proficiency and radiographers are being asked to submit ideas on how or even whether the standards should be amended.

Evidence is being gathered from a variety of individuals and stakeholders with knowledge of how the standards are working, how well they relate to registrants’ practice, and whether they need to be amended. Any proposed changes will then be a matter for consultation.

Standards of Proficiency were originally set to determine the minimum professional knowledge, understanding and skills that are necessary to register with the HPC. Competency must not only be met at registration but also throughout the individual’s professional life.

The Society will be responding to the review on behalf of the profession. Please send comments and responses to Maria Murray at MariaM@sor.org by the end of January.
