Have you influenced your SHA’s Local Development Plan?

Radiogrpaher at work

Whilst we’re talking about planning, the commitment to grow the diagnostics capacity to meet the ’18 week maximum wait’ in England (see Is Labour’s dream realistic?) needs to be reflected in your Strategic Health Authority’s Local Delivery Plan (LDP).

Increasingly, the Society is hearing reports that the necessary growth in radiology services in general, and numbers of radiographers in particular, is not being reflected in LDPs. The consequence is that departments and the current workforce will find themselves unable to meet the additional service pressures imposed by the 18 week wait target. Make sure you know who your SHA radiography and workforce leads are, and make sure your needs are reflected in the LDP that will affect you.
