Watch out for ‘hot’ ultrasound gear
Two new ultrasound systems worth more than £100,000 have been stolen from West Middlesex University Hospital, two days after delivery to the department.
The trust refused to release details of the stolen machines but the police, being more pragmatic, want to know if anyone is offered the following:

An SSD Aloka 3500, model number MO2935; serial number 102935. Equipped with two ultrasound probes: a curvy linear transabdominal probe and a transvaginal probe.

An SSD Aloka 5000, model number MO2741; serial number not recorded. Equipped with one curvy linear transabdominal probe. It is also believed to be the only ultrasound machine in the UK to have a Panasonic DVD (model LQMD 800 P) attached.
